Journal Question

What connections can you make between the Muslims view of Allah and the way they practice their faith and live their life?

They worship Allah with full devotion, as compared to christianity where there is more freedom in worship. There are strict rules that must be followed, and they bow to Allah everyday. In christianity,  God is seen as a father figure, a friend. The Muslims view God as an all mighty ruler, and someone who is to be revered.

Jewish Reflection

Write down one thing you learned about the Jews historically and culturally and two religious ideas.

I have learned more about the hardships that Jews have faced in the modern world, and learned that they stay true to their culture and heritage through different festivals and holidays. As well as that, I have gotten a better understanding of what being a Jew is.

Journal 1

If you could try, learn, or experience something entirely new this year what would it be? What is one thing you would need to do to get you on the right track to achieve this goal?

I want to start to cook for myself. I often find myself at home, no one else in the house. Being hungry, I wander to our tiny kitchen in search of food. What do I find? Doritos, instant noodles, and granola bars. Normally I go for the instant noodles, but in case you don't know..... it's pretty unhealthy (tastes good though)!

Now all this happens with ingredients to cook in the kitchen. If I taught myself how to actually use the things available, I'm sure that my body would appreciate it. My cholesterol is slightly high, probably all the instant noodles.

Boom, there you go! Year goal: cook for myself.

Let's see how this goes....
